Educational Network Seeks Financing for Significant Growth Phase

A New York City-based Charter Management Organization (CMO) was looking to create a long-term financing relationship for their rapidly growing school system. The CMO planned to double their number of locations in just five years and wanted to maintain a consistent response to technological needs in and outside of classrooms. While they had previously used cash for technology purchases, their growth trajectory and fast-paced expansion goals required a solution that would bring predictability to their budget over the years to come.

With plans to double their school locations in just 5 years, they wanted a solution to help maintain the technological needs in and outside of the classroom.

A technology lease line provides access to funds that can be used for all types of purchases, including faculty and staff devices, smartboards, and networking equipment.

Custom Financing Keeps Projects on Track

When First American stepped in, the school was preparing to place multi-million-dollar technology orders. Due to the size of the CMO and the volume of “on the horizon” projects, the First American team efficiently turned around custom documentation so that orders could be placed within weeks of the relationship beginning.

The CMO needed a program to finance different types of equipment for their expanding locations and a technology lease line did just that, giving them access to funds that could be used for all types of purchases—from faculty and staff devices for 1:1 programs to smartboards and networking equipment. By having one direct financing resource for all projects, the process was streamlined, reducing lead times and administrative burden which enabled First American to meet needs with quick turnarounds.

Additionally, within the lease line, the CMO implemented a three-year device renewal program to make sure that students and faculty had access to the “latest and greatest” classroom technology at each location.
